Open day at Henry McGrane artist studio

Henry McGrane is one of Ireland's leading artists and is known for still life, figurative genre-scenes, portraiture and landscapes paintings. His artwork is much sought after with sellout exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has worked in Europe and America and is now settled just outside Navan with his wife Catherine and family where he works as a professional artist from his studio, where he is hosting an open day on Saturday week.

Having studied at Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design, Henry began working with Sullivan Bluth Animation in Dublin. He went to Phoenix, Arizona, USA, in 1995 where he worked as a senior background artist for 20th Century Fox Studios. He furthered his career whilst studying oil painting under tuition of renowned American artists while in Arizona.

Henry is inspired by nature and has gained an intense understanding of painting from observation with oils and acrylics.

As a professional artist he has many successful exhibitions in high end galleries such as Sol Art Gallery and The Royal Hibernian Academy. Corporations like Bank of Ireland, AIB, FBD and The Department of Agriculture collect his art.

Patrons marvel at the way he creates a magical snapshot out of an ordinary piece of landscape, in what real art is all about: creating beauty from the world around us. It's also what makes McGrane one of Irelands most respected artists. The open day in Henry's studio near Navan, Eircode C15XVP1 will be on Saturday 3rd December, with a wine reception from 2pm to 5pm, with an opportunity to meet the artist andmaybe collect a unique piece of art.
