Continuing unsettled with rain, showers and strong winds at times. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

This morning, persistent or heavy rain in Ulster and north Leinster will gradually clear to the northeast. Sunny spells and occasional heavy showers today with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible. This afternoon and evening will become very windy along the west coast with very strong, gusty westerly winds. High waves developing also. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

Tonight, showers will continue for a time, but will gradually die out. Clear spells in many areas. However, rain and strong southerly winds will develop in the west and southwest by morning. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees.

On Thursday morning persistent or heavy rain will spread eastwards across the country with strong southerly winds and with localised flooding possible. Sunshine and showers will follow in the afternoon with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible. Southwest winds will become strong and gusty, especially in the west. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.

Thursday night will be blustery with clear spells and scattered showers heaviest and most frequent in the west with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.

Friday will bring sunshine and showers, mainly to the west and northwest. There will be a fair amount of dry weather to the east and south. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with moderate southerly breezes. Much of Friday night will be dry. However, rain will move in from the west overnight with strengthening southerly winds. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.

Saturday morning will be wet and windy as rain spreads eastwards across the country with fresh to strong, gusty southerly winds. Sunshine and showers will follow. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Sunday will be bright and breezy with sunshine and showers, some heavy. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees with moderate to fresh southwest winds.

Monday and Tuesday will be cool, breezy days with sunshine and showers. Temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with moderate to fresh west to northwest breezes.
