Nifty 50 bike run brings a blaze of colour to the village of Nobber

Sunday's Nifty 50 bike run in Nobber was a phenomenal success with over 170 bikes registering for the event.

The village was awash with colour as Honda 50, 70 and 90 enthusiasts from around the country descended on the north Meath village for the bike run organised by Thomas and Maggie Heffernan to raise funds for the local Nobber Cancer Support Group.

The weather was glorious as the run made its way around the 100km route before arriving back in Nobber later that afternoon for a barbecue in Keogan's.

Nobber Cancer Support Group has paid tribute to Maggie, Thomas, Roisín and all the Heffernan family for organising the event saying all their hard work and dedication is gratefully appreciated and hopefully it will become an annual event. The committee also thanked College Group, Brendan Doughty, Quadfactors, Keogans Pub, The Greenways, George's Butchers, Gavin Minife, Sean Weldon Motors, Nobber Pharmacy and all who helped out and donated in any way.

A presentation was also made to Aoibhín Primrose, age nine, who recently donated 19 inches of her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation and she also raised almost €6,000 which was shared between Nobber Cancer Support Group and Aoibheann's Pink Tie charity.
