Kiltale point their way to victory

Kiltale kick-started their SHC campaign in the way they would have wanted tonight at Pairc Tailteann when they defeated Kildalkey 0-20 to 1-12 in a contest that ebbed and flowed.

Kildalkey led 1-6 to 0-7 at the interval but Kiltale looked the sharper, hungrier side in the second-half and deservedly prevailed with Jack Regan firing over 10 points over the hour including a flurry of late scores.

Peter Durnin was also in fine form hitting six points with his team showing more consistency in front of the posts.

Kildalkey gave themselves a perfect start when Patrick Barnwell fired to the net early on scoring with an emphatic finish.

Nicky Potterton added seven points, six frees, over the hour that kept them in contention but the Village side were unable to cope with Kiltale's powerhouse finish.
