Fox re-elected as cathaoirleach of the Trim Municipal District for a second term

Fine Gael councillor Joe Fox has been re-elected as cathaoirleach of the Trim Municipal District for a second term.

Cllr Fox was elected unopposed at the annual meeting on Friday, while party colleague Noel French was elected unopposed as leas-cathaoirleach.

Cllr Fox said it was an honour and privilege to be re-elected. He said there was a lot happening in Trim with the Library and theatre/community space project "powering ahead" and would hopefully open in the next year or so, as well as the Porchfields and the Boyne Blueway which all add to the package of Trim as a tourist destination.

He went on to say that they also need to spread it out to the other areas in the district and that Enfield now has the town centre first project and highlighted the importance of public realm projects in making towns and villages more attractive and that part of this is slowing down traffic, which is one of the things they get most representations on as councillors.

Cllr Fox also highlighted the provision of playgrounds in Kildalkey and Longwood as a priority and that he would be working with the council to try to achieve those things.

He also thanked Director of Service Des Foley and Area Engineer Maura Daly and their staff for their work.
