Trim to the fore. Action from today's clash between Trim and Kildalkey.

Trim warm up for championship by claiming league crown

Showing a far sharper cutting edge than a subdued, sluggish Kildalkey side Trim marched to a fully-deserved 2-15 to 1-9 win in the A HL Div 1 final at Pairc Tailteann today.

Joey Cole was in fine scoring form for Trim. He hit 2-7 as Jimmy Canty's side picked up the silverware - surely a significant boost with the championship season just around the corner.

Trim were by some distance the better side. They led 0-13 to 0-6 at the break even after missing a host of chances.

Padraig Geoghegan snatched Kildalkey's goal but that arrived in the closing seconds.

Nicky Potterton hit six points for the Village side, all from frees on a forgettable day for them.
