Cole takes the reins at Rathmolyon

Former Rathmolyon player Gary Cole will manage the club's intermediate team for 2022 it has been announced.

A Rathmolyon man through and through Cole hurled for the club's adult teams for the best part of 20 years -- and now he'll be aiming to lead them back to the senior ranks.

He claimed an impressive array of honours during his playing days in the green jersey including two SHC medals, an IHC medal and a Div 1 honour as well as numerous under-age honours.

One of Cole's most memorable moments for Rathmolyon came when he scored a last minute, winning goal in the 2006 SHC final.

Rathmolyon reached the IHC semi-final last year but lost out narrowly to eventual winners Boardsmill.

No doubt all the supporters of the Village side will wish him well in his quest to land an IHC title.
