Death of farming columnist, Oliver McDonnell

Hill of Down farmer wrote for many publications

The death has occurred of Oliver McDonnell, of Croboy Farm, Hill of Down, who for many years was a columnist with the Farming Independent.

He was also well-known for his writings in other farming publications.

Formerly of Dowth, Drogheda, he died this morning at St Camillus' Nursing Centre, Killucan, Co Westmeath.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, family, Laurence, Catherine, Sean, Alan, David, Owen, Sarah Jane, sisters Ann (Gogan) and Mary (Reilly), brothers John and Joseph, sons in law Tom (Fagan) and Owen (Curran), daughters in law Annmarie, Jenifer, Aideen, Suzanne and Jen, grandchildren, and extended family, and friends.

A funeral Mass with take place this Wednesday (1st December) at Our Lady & Saint Dominic, Killyon, at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in local cemetery.
