We’re on board! County Meath Chamber’s Paula McCaul with Tayto Park chief Ray Coyle.

Give the gift of a Mí Meath card

Mí Meath gift cards are the perfect gift to give or to get this Christmas is the message from County Meath Chamber. They are also asking local business owners to opt for the Mí Meath gift card when giving staff rewards and corporate presents this Christmas.

“We are urging businesses to opt for the cards, which can be used in twice as many places as similar cards,” says Paula McCaul, CEO of County Meath Chamber, the driving force behind the shop local scheme.

“Up to 300 businesses accept the cards in shops and online all over Meath – they can be used for food, fashion, hotels, golf, racing, retail outlets and local services of all kinds, to go to Tayto Park, buy your home heating oil or pay for your childcare.”

“The Mí Meath card means that the money spent in Meath and stays in Meath, so it is a gift that keeps on giving. There are no restrictions, no hidden charges, no reducing balances, no expiry date and the choice is you on where to spend,” she says.

“Every aspect of these cards is local to Meath – Mí Meath was developed by Meath Chamber with support from Meath-based, Prepaid Financial Services and has been brought to life with supports from numerous other SME’s across Meath”.

Every outlet registered to spend receives a digital marketing toolkit and are profiled on www.mimeath.ie with contact details and a link to their website.

Under the Small Business Benefits Scheme, employers can gift their employee €500 tax free.

Ms McCaul points out that 92 percent of businesses in Meath are family-owned and supporting local businesses is also supporting local families, local jobs and the local economy.

For the consumer, the cards provide a huge choice of outlets – almost twice as many as other cards and they can be spent in any of the towns and villages in Meath – just last week, five outlets in Nobber signed up to the scheme.

“You can order them online or pick up a zero-balance card in any Credit Union office, Library or Choice store and load the money onto them online at mimeath.ie. They are reloadable, so you can top them up any time.”

The Chamber is delighted to have got the support of Tara Mines. This is a huge boost to us as they are one of the biggest employers in Meath, said Ms McCaul.

Mí Meath cards were purchased by McCauley’s Pharmacy Navan to present to the Meath Ladies Football team when they won the All Ireland; while the victorious Meath Minors were also presented with Mí Meath cards by Meath County Council at their civic reception.

A final word from Paula McCaul “It’s all about keeping it local, gifting a Mí Meath card is Win Win for Meath”.
