Trim students get shirty for GOAL

Trim Educate Together National School held its first ever GOAL Jersey Day recently.

It proved a fun day for all concerned with lots of colour throughout the school.

The students and staff wore their favourite jersey or the colours of their favourite team while at the same time raising funds for a very worthy cause.

GOAL Jersey Day sees communities across Ireland coming together and wearing their favourite jerseys to support GOAL's work with vulnerable communities.

The charity delivers a wide range of humanitarian and development programmes, with a focus on systems, partnerships and building resilience. David Earley, the newly appointed Principal of Trim Educate Together N.S. said that he was delighted with the success of the day. He thanked everyone for their generosity which raised €705 for GOAL.

“It was great to see the students and staff wearing their favourite jersey into school. Some students really enjoyed telling a story about their jersey with certain students saying it was their parent’s old jersey and others said it was the jersey of their parent’s home country”.

David hopes that GOAL Jersey Day can be an annual event in Trim ETNS and looks forward organising one again next year.
