OMP need to stay strong and united to avoid the drop

Penalty woe for OMP as they lose vital points

It was a tale of woe as far as OMP were concerned when they lost 1-3 to Carrick today in the NEFL Premier.

This was a game David Doyle's side could have done with taking something from as they battle against relegation.

However they were in real trouble at the break when they trailed 0-3 with Rory O'Rourke scoring two for Carrick and Lorcan Murnaghan getting another with a header.

Remarkably OMP had three penalties in the second-half but were unable to convert any of them with Keith McGibney shooting wide while Donie Callan and Ryan Murphy had their shots saved.

Carrick had their goalkeeper Martin McDermott sent off after he saved the first penalty but replacement Wayne Kerley stepped in and saved Murphy's spot-kicks.

Eoghan Breathnach scored a wonder goal for OMP firing the ball to the net from a free kick, the player firing the ball over the wall, Messie-like,

OMP had their chances but were unable to take full advantage.
