Irish Water to start work on Trimgate Street and Bakery Lane on Monday

Work on a new sewer along Navan's Trimgate Street and Bakery Lane will begin next week.

Irish Water in partnership with Meath County Council will be carrying out the work which involves the construction of approximately 45 metres of new sewer along Trimgate Street and Bakery Lane.

The work is due to commence along Trimgate Street at night from Monday (11th October) to Friday (15th October) between 8pm and 6am.

Remaining works along Bakery Lane are scheduled to be delivered from Monday 18th October until completion between 9am and 6pm daily.

Works along Bakery Lane will require a lane closure. Traffic management will be in place with local and emergency access maintained at all times.

Work crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption.

Commenting on the project, Dave Murphy, Irish Water said, “A sewer network that is fit for purpose is essential in order to support business and social development in the community. These works will support existing and future residential and commercial development while also improving the overall performance of the sewer network, helping to safeguard the environment. Irish Water and Meath County Council regret any inconvenience these improvement works may cause”

"Irish Water continues to work at this time, with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services."
