'Anti-Social Ireland' documentary on riotous Ireland

New Virgin Media investigation airs tonight

An eye-opening documentary - ‘Antisocial Ireland’ - airs tonight on Virgin Media one at 9pm.

Virgin Media News Crime Correspondent Sarah O'Connor investigates the apparent rise in antisocial behaviour across the country. These are high-profile and shocking incidents of disorderly conduct, assault and riot, often perpetrated by gangs of youths, that have been widely shared on social media and made headlines.

It examines Garda efforts to clamp down on public order offences and talk to victims who feel abandoned by the authorities. It also speaks to community representatives and outreach workers trying to tackle antisocial tendencies among young people before they manifest in violence.

This one-off documentary features Assistant Commissioner Anne Marie Cagney, Timmy Long and James Leonard from the 2 Norries podcast and Karl Ducque from the TRY project based in Dublin 8.

It looks at specific instances of antisocial behaviour, ask why this is happening and explore what can be done to bring it to an end.

‘Antisocial Ireland’ airs Monday 4th October at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
