Meath LSP has events to mark the European Week of Sport

Meath Local Sports Partnership will host a series of ongoing events and activities to celebrate European Week of Sport taking place from this Thursday 23rd to Thursday 30th September.

Walk Jog Running Programmes start on Monday 4th October in Trim, Navan, Kells, Tara and Enfield.

This six-week walk to jog programme is suited for walkers who would like to increase to jogging fitness or for those returning to running after an absence.

Midlife Yoga online zoom class start on Tuesday 28th September at 7pm. This class incorporates an inclusive range of yoga movements and breathing exercises to help manage symptoms and regain control of the body and mind.

The designated class uses gentle stretches, supported postures, relaxation and meditation to provide the support for positive ageing, registration is €20 for six weeks.

Pregnancy Pilates (online via zoom) start on Wednesday 29th September at 10am. This structured programme incorporates exercises to strengthen muscles which help maintain flexibility, improve posture and stabilise the pelvis and lower back, therefore reducing pain. Walking Football for Men 40+ returns on Wednesday 6th October at 7pm in MDL Navan. To book email Luke at luke.condie@meathcoco.ie

Meath Running Group - six-week track training starts Wednesday 22nd September at 8pm at Claremont Stadium, Navan. This block will focus on preparation for five miles, 10km and 10-mile distances, registration is €30 for six weeks, email Ruairi at rmurphy@meathcoco.ie

Learn 2 Cycle Ashbourne starts on Thursday 7th October in Ashbourne Community School. This six-week programme aims to assist children with a disability to cycle independently, registration is €15 per child, email Terry at tdonegan@meathcoco.ie

Run Jump Throw starts in Navan, Kells, Bettystown and Dunshaughlin at the end of September.

This is a six-week multi-activity programme suitable for children (aged five to 12) with autism or an intellectual disability, registration is €10 per family, email Terry at tdonegan@meathcoco.
