Second winner of the week at Galway for Tom Gibney

Trainer Tom Gibney maintained his good form with a second winner of the week at Galway today.

Running for the trainer for the first time Mr Saxobeat won the concluding race on the card at Ballybrit for jockey Noel McParlan.

Gibney was on the mark on Tuesday with Imposing Supreme and was understandably delighted with the victory this evening.

“We like him a lot and we would have been disappointed if he wasn't knocking on the door today," stated the Irish Grand National-winning trainer post-race to irishracing.com..

The other Meath success was the John McConnell-trained Streets Of Doyen which made a winning start over fences in a beginners chase.

Simon Torrens partnered the winner which edged out the Gavin Cromwell-trained Western Run with Sean Flanagan on board by a neck

Streets Of Doyen won four hurdles in-a-row last year finishing that run off with a victory at Cheltenham in October and there was third place in the Albert Bartlett last March.

Cromwell is still waiting for his first winner of the week at Galway, but he was on the mark at Perth on Tuesday with Dakota Beat in a maiden hurdle.
