Letter to the Editor: 50 shades of grey in Navan

(Editor, Meath Chronicle)

Dear sir - Here we are , emerging from the greatest pandemic this century has known, after a worldwide shutdown, and what do the businesses and professions of Navan do to cheer us up and brighten our lives?

They paint the town grey. Almost every premises on the main street - Trimgate Street - as well as some others, that have been painted recently, have been painted some shade of grey, some even black. What are they trying to do? Depress us further. Add more to the gloom and doom? The Market Square is one big grey block on one side too.

Navan was once a grey industrial town - but it's time it cheered up.

Yours,

Mick Greene,

Academy Square,

Navan.
