Kilmainhamwood score heavily as Paul's pay price

It was a long trip from Clonee to Kilmainhamwood and it must have felt even longer going home as St Paul's suffered a comprehensive 0-11 to 5-18 Tailteann Cup loss.

Paddy Carolan gave the hosts the lead with a point after 20 seconds and they never looked back. Jamie Fagan added a goal after his side tagged on a few more points and by half-time the winners led 1-12 to 0-5.

Andy Farrelly bagged a second goal soon after the restart and when Oisin Reilly marked his debut with a goal it hammered the final nail into St Paul's already miniscule hopes.

Dave Russell came off the bench to score his side's fourth goal before Kian Gillespie bagged the fifth as Kilmainhamwood coasted to victory with all their scores coming from play.
