Meath set for May action in Ladies NFL

Ladies All-Ireland IFC champions Meath will face Kerry, Wexford and Clare over successive weekends at the end of May and beginning of June in the Lidl Ladies National Football League.

Meath will play in NFL Div 2A while NFL Div 2B will feature Tyrone, Monaghan, Armagh and Cavan in an all-Ulster Division to complete two groups of four teams each playing three games per team.

At the moment all the games across all divisions are set for a Sunday, but may be played midweek or on Saturday subject to agreement with both counties.

Dublin and Cork have been pitted together in Div 1B which is due to get underway on 23rd May and they will be joined by Tipperary and Waterford while Galway, Mayo, Donegal and Westmeath comprise Division 1A.

There are four counties in each group, with the exception of a three-team Division 4B, which contains Carlow, Offaly and Limerick.

Three rounds of group fixtures will be played on consecutive weekends, with the semi-finals scheduled for 13th June.

There will then follow a two-week break before the Lidl National League Finals are played on 27th June.

Confirmation of initial details for the 2021 Lidl National Leagues follow the recent Government announcement that inter-county training can resume from 19th April for ‘sanctioned and organised adult inter-county National Gaelic Games Leagues.’

The teams lining out in the 2021 Lidl National Leagues will have five weeks to prepare before action gets underway, with fixtures to follow in due course.
