Online 'Big Laugh-in' for rape crisis centre

All-star international line-up for comedy fundraiser in aid of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre

Comedy Safety Standards (CSS), a new organisation campaigning to create a safer and more inclusive comedy scene in Ireland, is holding an online comedy fundraiser to raise money for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre on Friday 23rd April.

‘The Big Laugh-In for DRCC’ will include performances from some of the biggest names in Irish comedy: Maeve Higgins, Jarlath Regan, Eleanor Tiernan, Gearóid Farrelly, Catherine Bohart, Alison Spittle, with international guests Fern Brady and Sikisa.

Alison Spittle, a founding member of Comedy Safety Standards, says: “The pandemic has caused the world to pause, but charities like the DRCC don't have a pause button and people need help. This comedy night will be a night of escapism. A night out while wearing comfy trousers.”

“The night will be exactly like a comedy club with all your favourite comedians except you can eat prawn crackers, safe in the knowledge that no one will hear you.”

All the money from ticket sales will go directly to the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. CSS are encouraging people to give what they can to this worthy cause. Tickets prices start at a donation of €12, and are available online at www.idonate.ie/comedy.
