Sizing up Complete at Clonmel due to patient approach

Jim Dreaper sent out a third winner of the year when Complete Sizing won a hunters' chase at Clonmel last evening taking the final race on the card.

Complete Sizing was partnered by Jamie Codd who won four point-to-points in 2017 and 2018 on the nine-year-old which is also owned by the trainer.

It was a first outing since March last year and the patient approach by the Dreaper family was certainly important in this victory.

“He was going to go point-to-pointing, but when that was scrapped we said we’d give this a rattle," commented the trainer's son Thomas post-race to irishracing.com.

"I thought he’d do four years ago what he’s done today — it’s been a long road," he added.

The second Meath winner arrived in the form of the Robbie Power-partnered Avellino for trainer Dermot McLoughlin.

After a third-place finish at Fairyhouse last month Avellino was sent off the 4/7 favourite in the opening mares' beginners' chase and duly obliged.
