Fallen gets the Rutledge treatment in 66/1 Dundalk shock

Ashbourne woman Siobhan Rutledge steered 66/1 outsider Fallen Forest to victory in a maiden at Dundalk this evening to sustain her impressive form.

It was a first run on the level for the Bill Durkan-trained short-head winner since last June with action since then over hurdles without any success.

There was a fourth place finish at Gowran last January in a two-mile handicap hurdle that was won by Jim Dreaper's Forrad Away, but the Durkan horse was nowhere near the business end on that occasion.

However. this evenng at the 20th attempt and with the assistance of the talented Rutledge the six-year-old edged out the Gavin Cromwell-trained Kalanoura by a short-head.

The win maintains Rutledge's good form in 2021 and this was a first her first winner for the Dublin trainer.
