Man to appear in court in connection with €204,000 Trim drugs seizure

A man, aged in his 40s, arrested in relation to a significant drugs seizure has been charged and is scheduled to appear before Trim District Court this morning, 25th February 2021.

Revenue officers and Gardai seized over 10kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €204,000, following the search, under warrant, of a premises in the Trim area earlier this week.

The seizure was made as a result of a joint intelligence led operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the Meath Divisional Drugs Units and the Trim Detective Unit.

The 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Trim Garda Station.

This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
