Coscoran runs 3:39 in Madrid 1,500m

Andrew Coscoran was in action this evening in the 1,500m in the World Indoor Tour in Madrid as the countdown to the European Indoor Championships in Poland next month continues.

Star of the Sea athlete Coscoran took fifth in 3:39.61 just behind Poland's Martin Lewandowski in 3:39.36.

The race was won impressively by Selemon Barega (Ethiopia) in 3:35.42 with Spain's Jesus Gomez Santiago 3:36.32 in second place.

Another Spanish runner , Sergio Panlagua Escolar 3:39.09 in third.

Coscoran will one of 24 Irish athletes competing at the Euros next month after the Irish team was announced on Monday.
