Weekend weather: breezy and mild turning cooler on Saturday

Generally cloudy today with patchy rain or drizzle at times. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in mostly moderate to fresh southwest winds, occasionally strong and gusty in west and northwestern coasts.

Tonight will be cloudy with some patchy drizzle at first. More frequent outbreaks of rain will move into north Leinster later in the night.

Temperatures will stay around 10 or 11 degrees in the south and east, but will fall to between 6 and 9 degrees in the northwest with the clearance of the rain. Southwesterly winds will be mostly moderate to fresh but occasionally strong and gusty.

Saturday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain across the south and east at first tomorrow morning, but this rain will clear southeastwards through the morning, followed by sunny spells and scattered showers from the northwest.

The afternoon will start out with temperatures ranging 7 to 12 degrees north to south, but turning cooler, reducing 6 to 9 degrees by late afternoon. Winds will be mainly light to moderate southwesterly

Saturday night will be mostly dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees, coldest in the south and east, with light to moderate southwesterly winds.

Sunday will be largely dry with varying cloud cover. It will be a cold day with afternoon temperatures of just 6 to 9 degrees, but light to moderate southwesterly winds continuing.

Sunday night looks to be dry night with clear spells countrywide at first, but cloud will increase overnight. Temperatures will be similar to Saturday night, ranging 2 to 6 degrees, with fresh southerly winds developing in the west.
