Rotunda fertility centre moving to Swords campus

The new location in Swords will better serve patients across Dublin, and other areas including Louth, Meath and Cavan

Fertility centre Rotunda IVF has today announced that it will be moving from its city centre campus to a new state of the art facility in Swords Business Campus in January 2021. As part of the relocation, the clinic will rebrand as Sims IVF. The current clinic will remain operational in the existing location until mid-December and the new Sims IVF Swords location will be fully operational by mid-January 2021.

Both clinics are members of the global fertility group, Virtus Health. The strategic decision to rebrand from Rotunda IVF to Sims IVF is a better reflection of growth performance and innovation at both clinics, a statement from the group says. Sims IVF has existing locations in Clonskeagh, Cork, and Carlow and the new location in Swords will better serve patients across Dublin, including the growing Dublin Fingal area, and areas including Louth, Meath and Cavan.

The new facility will have the latest fertility technologies to enhance patient experience and the location offers easy access for patients, with free parking onsite and ease of access to the M50 and national road network. The clinic move will be carried out over the Christmas to minimize impact to treatment and services.

Damien O’Dowd, group clinic director at Sims IVF said: “Due to increased patient demand in recent years, we have outgrown the current clinic site on the Rotunda Hospital campus. In order to continue to provide the best possible care and service to our patients, we needed to identify a new location in close proximity to the city centre but that would also serve a wider catchment area in North Dublin and surrounding counties. With the move to the new Swords facility, senior management team felt it was the optimum time for the Rotunda IVF to formally come together with Sims IVF.”

The Swords clinic will be staffed by the same team as Rotunda IVF, led by director, Dr Renato Bauman and manager, Mikey O’Brien.

Mr O’Brien added: “We are delighted to announce the clinic move and rebrand to Sims IVF. We look forward to welcoming our patients to the new clinic in January and wish to reassure our patients that the Swords clinic will still have all the same familiar faces, just in a new location.”
