Meath's Covid-19 test centre to move location

The Covid-19 testing centre for Meath will be moving to Ashbourne from Slane later this month.

The move to Ashbourne Health Centre is to facilitate increased capacity for testing for County Meath with available re-deployed HSE staff.

Last month 5163 tests were carried out at the Slane centre.

That compares to 2137 in August, 938 in July and 705 in June.

Those figures exclude residential care facilities, meat plants and direct provision centres.

According to the HSE 96per cent of referrals to a Static Test Centre are being done on a same day / next day basis.

Slane Health Centre will be used as an Covid-19 Assessment Hub , as and when required, in discussion with GPs in Meath and the National Ambulance Service continues to provide a Home Testing Service where clinically indicated by the referring GP.
