€75,000 community funding for Duleek 'very welcome' - McKee

COUNTYWIDE NOTES - DULEEK

Community Funding Very Welcome

The news that €75,000 has been received from Meath County Council towards the completion of the new Duleek, Bellewstown and District Community under the Community Amenity Grants Scheme has been warmly welcomed by Duleek-based councillor Stephen McKee.

“The project is at an advanced stage and the awarding of this funding provides huge extra momentum,” Cllr McKee says. “I would like to thank the committee for working with me to help deliver this funding and also Meath County Council for their support.”

Over 60 local community groups have already signed up to use the Community Facility when it is opened, he says and it makes sense as a relatively small community for our sporting clubs and community groups to actively co-operate to make the best use of available resources and funding.

“I pay tribute to all the Community groups in the area in reaching agreement to develop this project,” he added

“As a parent with small children myself, it is vital that we do all we can to improve facilities and community infrastructure in the area for our youth and I along with the Committee are fully committed to helping deliver a top-class facility for the Duleek area in the very near future.”
