Cork double for Colin Keane

Two more winners today for 2017 champion flat jockey Colin Keane reduces Shane Foley's lead to six as the race for the 2020 title starts to shape up.

Keane was 15 adrift last week, but has hit a rich vein of form and has tallied 17 winners so far in September.

Winner number one today was provided by trainer Denis Hogan with Keane partnering Breakfast Club to victory from the more fancied Hogan runner Bahlwan which was sent off the well-backed 100/30 favourite.

It was only Keane's second ride for the trainer and it was a second winner - he won on Sceptical at Dundalk earlier this year.

Keane completed the double on the Noel Meade-trained Curious Bride and maintained his challenge for the flat jockeys championship as he moved on to 62 winners with Shane Foley on 68.

The Trim man had to do 14 days in quarantine at the beginning of August after riding Siskin in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and has recovered superbly inside a month to get back into contention for the title.

Tomorrow at Naas there are eight races on the card and Shane Foley will be bidding for winners as well in his pursuit of a first title.
