Three males arrested as stolen school property recovered

Gardai today conducted two searches in Athboy relating to a burglary at the local Athboy Community School recently.

Members of Kells Detective Unit assisted by uniform members from Athboy and Kells carried out the operations in Athboy.

During the course of these searches the property taken from the school was recovered and a quantity of drugs was also seized.

Three males were arrested on suspicion of burglary. All three suspects were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

They were interviewed during the day in relation to a number of incidents. Two of the those arrested are juveniles and have been released pending files to the Garda Youth Diversion Office.

The third suspect has been charged in relation to a number of incidents and remains in custody to appear before the District Courts. A file on other matters will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding this suspect.
