Paddy Fox surges forward with Bryan McKeever in support.

Fox recognised for terrific try

Navan RFC full back Paddy Fox has been nominated as the winner of the February AIL ' Try of the Month'  award. He scored a brilliant individual kick and chase try against Highfield at Balreask Old on Saturday 23rd February.

Fox has been an ever present on the Navan team that has clinched a place in the AIL Div 2A/1B play-offs with a semi-final clash against Cashel looking the most likely outcome with one round of games still to be played. This Saturday Navan take on Nenagh away.

Highfield have won Div 2A and a promotion to the next level but they had their difficulties too and they succumbed to defeat in that game in February against a fired-up Navan side that ended up winning 17-13.

Another memorable try scored by Fox came in Navan's 20-13 victory over Cashel in January. Fox got to the end of a brave, searching Colm O'Reilly crossfield pass with Fox collecting near the touchline before going over for a winning try in the dramatic closing minutes of that game.

From Dunshaughlin, Fox's game includes the ability to bob and weave his way past opponents with his pace a major asset and he used his pace to score a number of tries this season.

He scored two tries in Navan's 83-7 trouncing of Dolphin at Balreask Old last Saturday, a game that also marked the 100th appearance of Bryan McKeever who finished  the one-sided contest with a hat-trick of touchdowns.
