Title success for Rogers

Bohermeen man Gary Rogers is this morning celebrating a Premier League title success with Sligo Rovers after yesterday's dramatic 3-2 victory over St Patrick's Athletic at The Showgrounds. Although beaten twice in the second-half as the hosts surrendered a two-goal advantage, Rogers played a vital role in Sligo's victory and first title since 1977 as they won the game with a late Mark Quigley penalty. Rogers signed for Sligo Rovers this season from St Pat's and is likely to play in next Friday night's game against Drogheda at the Louth venue (7.45) as the Connacht side play their last away game of the season. The Bohermeen man previously enjoyed success with Drogheda Utd and has also played for Bray, Galway Utd and Dublin City as well as a spell with Shelbourne. He started playing at under-age level in Meath with Bohermeen Celtic. Click on link for video (if necessary) http://youtu.be/-sogsZfRl4A
