French award for innovative Meath company

During the recent SPACE Show in Rennes, France's leading livestock and agricultural equipment trade show, Oldcastle-based engineering company, Dromone, collected an award for its pick-up hitch. The award was presented to William Egenton at the awards ceremony held on Tuesday 14th September. The interchangeable tow-hook, clevis drawbar, K80 ball and piton drawbar in the fully automatic telescopic pick-up hitch was the basis for the award. Dromone was one of 11 Irish companies represented at this show in conjunction with the recent Enterprise Ireland trade mission to France. Dromone is an industry-leading Irish company which has been developing hitching technology for the agricultural and construction markets for over 30 years, and is a leader in the European market for pick-up hitches for tractors. The firm has 100 employees and 1,000 square metres of workshops, as well as a policy of constant reinvestment which involves recruitment of fully qualified staff, the introduction of the newest and most up-to-date technology as well as development of its research and development division. Dromone exports to over 28 countries.
