Hot Press search for Phil Lynott memorabilia

Hand written lyrics by Philip Lynott for Still in Love With You.

Since the launch of the Philip Lynott Pledge campaign recently, Hot Press has been inundated with messages from fans across the world wishing to share their memories of Philip and Thin Lizzy. In response, the public are now being given a chance to become an integral part of the creative process.

Hot Press is calling on fans all over the world to search for any Thin Lizzy or Philip Lynott-related memorabilia they may have picked up over the years.  So now is your chance to relive those magical rock moments. People are invited to travel back into their musical past, to search their attics or drawers to unearth material relating to Philip Lynott or Thin Lizzy that might have been stashed or pushed to the back of a drawer years ago – and in the process, to help tell the story of Ireland's legendary rock star.

"So many of Philip's fans have told me about the different momentos they've gathered and cherished over the years", Philomena Lynott said. "And of course others put things away that they have entirely forgotten about."

"With the help of Hot Press, I have unearthed a veritable treasure trove of memorabilia – many of which I had forgotten even existed. Now, I'm asking fans of my boy, Philip, to help me and Hot Press to add even more to the most wide-ranging collection of Philip Lynott and Thin Lizzy memorabilia the world has ever seen – or will ever see."

"We are uncovering some really remarkable material, which will give fans a far deeper insight into the life and times of Philip Lynott," said Niall Stokes, the editor of Philip Lynott: Still In Love With You. “It is going to be a totally unique and wonderful book. The collection – including the fantastic Philo memorabilia that was on display at the Exhibition, plus loads of new material both from Philomena's personal archive and elsewhere – is already extraordinary. But it’d be lovely if fans from around Ireland, the UK and the world were to add even more. I’m sure there’s loads opt material out there."

So how can fans become a part of the Philip Lynott Story?
Simply send a photo (a phone pic is fine!) of any Philip Lynott or Thin Lizzy memorabilia you might find to stillinlovewithyou@hotpress.ie There is the no need to send anything in the post at this point – Hot Press will make contact with you after receiving the photo(s). Items might range from concert tickets, posters, obscure record sleeves, important  newspaper or magazine cuttings to more personal items such as letters, postcards, photographs, autographs or indeed any interesting material you might come across.

Still In Love With You: The Philip Lynott Exhibition ran in both Dublin and London to rave reviews in 2011 and 2012. This year, Hot Press, along with Philomena Lynott and The Roisín Dubh Trust, is set to publish Philip Lynott: Still In Love With You – The Book of The Philip Lynott Exhibition. Fans can help to make the project a reality and secure special editions and other brilliant Philo-related treats through PledgeMusic.
