There was a 'Crooked Man' .... Tiernan launches new DVD

Tommy Tiernan launched 'Crooked Man' this week.
Tommy Tiernan's new DVD, 'Crooked Man' premiered at The Cork Film Festival this week. Having received rave reviews for the Crooked Man Tour, which saw Tommy performing sell out dates across Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, it was decided to capture this particular moment in comedy on film.
Richard Ayoade, writer and director of 'Submarine', who also plays Maurice Moss in C4's 'The IT Crowd', undertook the challenge. It took eight motion film cameras to capture the live show, with all its vigor and verve intact. The DVD was shot last July 2011, over one night, in Cork's City Limits Comedy Club, Tommy's early and much loved stomping ground, and infamous home of raw stand up in Ireland.
We see Tommy delving into themes with his trademark lunacy, devouring ideas and reproducing them with unparalleled hilarity.
He has smashed sales records with his previous DVDs, with 'Cracked: Live at Vicar Street' shooting to number one in the first week of release and reaching four times platinum status, 'Loose' going straight to number one and reaching eight times platinum status, and 'Jokerman: Tommy Tiernan in America' reaching quadruple platinum status and nominated for an IFTA award.
'Crooked Man' is set to push Tommy's star further into ascendance as it captures the comedian at the pinnacle of his career. Recent defining television performances in the UK have proved testament to this, namely 'Live At the Apollo', Micheal Mac Intyre's 'Comedy Roadshow', 'Laughs In The Park' with Eddie Izzard and Ross Noble and 'Dave's One Night Stand'.
The 'Crooked Man' DVD (certificate 18) will include a free audio CD. It will be available from all recommended retail stores.
