Trim Celtic held to a draw
Trim Celtic were held to a NEFL Premier 1-1 draw today by a battling Rock Celtic at Tully Park.
Trim created plenty of chances, but trailed early in the second-half when Adam Curtin scored an excellent goal with a side-footed effort from outside the penalty area.
The Trim players were appealing for a free following a challenge in midfield (see video clip), but the referee wasn't interested.
Trim upped the tempo and were back on terms when Colm Carney levelled in the 73rd minute.
Trim continued to press for a winner and had the ball in the Rock net, but the referee gave a free-out and indicated it was for hand ball (see video clip).
Muirhevnamor defeated Newfoundwell by 3-1 to go clear at the top and with only an eight-game campaign (one round) it's difficult to see Trim Celtic winning the title now.
