Balrath FC trip to the Aviva

A large contingent of enthusiastic Republic of Ireland supporters from the Balrath Boys & Girls FC made the trip to the Aviva Stadium yesterday to support the Boys In Green against Serbia.

The young supporters were accompanied by mentors from the club and some equally enthusiastic parents and the convened in Kentstown  before boarding two coaches to make the trip to Dublin at around 5.45pm.

Despite the reversal for the Republic of Ireland the boys and girls enjoyed the outing and really got behind the team to provide as much encouragement as possible for the Boys In Green.

Balrath FC is a boys and girls soccer club made up of children from the Balrath area of Navan and surrounding areas of Kenstown, Duleek, Johnstown and Walterstown.

The club was established by PRO and academy coach Brian Matthews to give the children of the area a happy non-pressurised enviroment to play football.

Emphasis is on fitness, fun and fair play and four teams compete in the NDSL and one girls team compete in the NECSL.
