OMP Utd champions of NEFL Div 1

OMP Utd returned to the NEFL Premier Division as Div 1 champions following the victory over Trim Town and the defeat of Ardee Celtic last night by Black Bull.

Mickey Brennan and Gavin Boyle scored the goals for OMP in the 2-0 win over Trim Town and that extended the team's unbeaten sequence to 13 games which included 10 wins.

OMP Utd - David Nolan, Davy Bracken, Joe Garvey, Dylan Doyle, Daire Corcoran, Craig Dixon, Stephen Casey, Andy Kearney, Micky Brennan, Gavin Boyle, David Bowens. Subs - Graham Hill for Bowens, Ryan Murphy for Dixon, Marc Horrigan for Murphy,Paul McGuirk for Bracken, Oisin McGuinness for Casey, Nigel Kennedy, Paddy Fagan.

The race for the remaining promotion places took an unusual turn when a crucial game between Enfield and Torro on Thursday night was abandoned due to a problem with the lights at the MDL with Torro leading by 2-1.

The game will be re-fixed.

Black Bull's win over Ardee now gives Enfield a lifeline for at least a play-off if OMP beat Ardee in the last game and Enfield beat Torro in the re-fixture.

If Black Bull fail to win any of their two remaining games that would also boost Enfield's cause.
