Park Celtic Summerhill win O'Neill Shield final

Two goals from Ray Ryan, one in each half, gave Park Celtic Summerhill a 2-0 victory in the O'Neill Shield final at the MDL last night against double-chasing Virginia Celtic.

It could have been three for the Meath men, but Brian Rispin's penalty was saved in the opening half. The panalty was awarded after John Farrell was impeded.

Park Celtic Summerhill captain Brian Rispin was presented with the O'Neill Shield and there was an extra trophy for the club when David Sullivan received the man of the match award.

This was an excellent win for Park Celtic Summerhill as Virginia were going for the double and Park Celtic Summerhill were looking for their first piece of silverware snce the amalgamation of Summerhill Celtic and Agher Park.
