Carney hat-trick boosts Cosmos to victory

Navan Cosmos delivered a clinical performance tonight at the MDL when they recorded a 4-0 North East Football Premier League victory against Kingscourt Harps for their fourth win out of five this season in the title race.

The win moves Cosmos on to 12 points with games in hand on the leaders and based on this showing tonight they are in good shape for the challenges of what could be a gruelling season in terms of competitions - league, shiled, cup, Leinster Senior Cup, Leinster Junior Cup and FAI Junior Cup.

Kingscourt produced a spirited first-half performance despite going a goal down in four minutes to Ciaran Rogers.

Colm Carney added a second goal on the stroke of half-time after a surging run from Paul Delaney created the opening and two more Carney goals in the second-half completed the tally and bagged the points for Cosmos.
