Parkvilla suffer defeat days after hughes departs

Just days after Morgan Hughes and Parkvilla parted ways the Claremont club suffered a 0-2 defeat to Pegasus in the Intermediate Cup this evening.

The game at Claremont Stadium was a stop-start affair with Pegasus, who are a division about Parkvilla, clinching their win with goals from Brian Clafferty and Paul Cummins. It was 1-0 at the break.

Hughes enjoyed considerable success as the Parkvilla manager guiding the club to the last eight of the Intermediate Cup and a place in the FAI Senior Cup.

However there was a parting of the ways during the week.

Aaron Shanahan, who signed for Bohemians this season, and who has been involved with Parkvilla, stood in as the caretaker manager for tonight's game but he was without six regulars in his first game in management.

TJ McManus came closest to finding the net for Parkvilla in this game. Goalkeeper Killian Hand also exectuted some sharp saves while Dale O'Kane and Andy Williamson made a number of tackles to deny the visitors from adding to their account.
