Mcquillan in panel for denmark games this week

Navan girl Amanda McQuillan is on her travels again with the Republic of Ireland women's u-19 team only a few weeks afer she was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s U19 Championship.

McQuillan, who lives in Johnstown (Navan), is a member of the Republic of Ireland u-19 side for a friendly against Denmark tomorrow at the Telenor Arena, Nykobing (5.30pm Irish).

The second fixture will take place on Thursday at Ingestauto Park, Sakskobing (11:00am).

'It comes back around very quickly. We're preparing for the new season’s UEFA WU19 Championships First Qualifying Phase which takes place in Sweden in three weeks,” said Republic of Ireland manager Dave Connell.

'We spoke about building on the performances we put in this summer. Our aim is to take each competition as it comes. The first job is to qualify for the elite phase.

“Denmark are always tough so I’m pleased to be playing them again and we got a good test against Sue Ronan's team in a training game at the weekend. The girls are looking good in training. We'll be looking to carry that into game,” he added.
