Quest for league titles starts tonight

With the final season of the Meath & District League set to kick-off this evening, it will be the North East Fotball League next season,   there will be lots of action unfolding over the weekend at various venues.

Following a series of games in the Shield competitions, the race for the divisional titles gets underway now.

The Meath Chronicle will be reporting on the big local game on Sunday morning when Navan Cosmos tackle Premier new boys Boca Rovers at the MDL.

This evening, Kentstown Rovers will travel to Dundalk to tackle Muirhevnamor and could cause the hosts a few problems, don't rule out the possibility of a victory for the Meath side who impressed on the way to promotion last season.

On Sunday, Navan Cosmos manager Derek Coogan will be aiming to get  off to a winning start in the Premier and they should be able to handle Boca Rovers who won the promotion / relegation play-off last season.

Over at Tully Park, Trim Celtic will host champions Woodview Celtic and new manager Richie Fitzsimons will be looking for a home win - both teams won midweek in the Kilmessan Shield.

The other Meath team in Premier action, Duleek, should have enough in the tank to handle Boyne Harps and get manager Trevor Molloy off to a winning start.

DIVISION 1
It won't be easy for OMP when they go to Ardee Celtic who have Dave Rogers in the managerial hot seat, but Slane and Navan Town are both capable of winning at home.

DIVISION 2
Newtown can expect to make a winnign start against Monaghan visitors Carrick Rovers and Athboy could expect to negotiate Laurence's.
Oldcastle and Kells/Blackwater has the makings of a draw after both lost midweek while Torro should edge out Johnstown and Trim Town might find Electro too hot to handle.

Clubs are invited to submit brief report on their game to Meath Chronicle - sports@meathchronicle.ie
