Fitzsimons looking to end Celtic's title despair

Trim Celtic’s new manager Richie Fitzsimons will be hoping to lead his team to a North East Football League Premier title next season and make up for recent disappointments.
The Tully Park outfit narrowly missed out on the Premier title last month and they will be seeking to make up for those setbacks in the forthcoming campaign.
Fitzsimons, who replaces Alan Kirwan, was part of the Trim Celtic backroom set-up during the 2011-12 season when Brian McCreary held the managerial reins.
At the end of that season the Tully Park side narrowly missed out on MDL Premier title with the race going down to the last day when Co Louth rivals just did enough to claim the glory.
Fitzsimons will be assisted by Paul Campbell, Ross Campbell and Mick Craig, all of whom have made considerable contributions to the club at various levels.
Paul Campbell has won the club ‘senior player of the year’ award three times and scored 140 goals for the Hoops. He has been a member of the MDL Oscar Traynor squad for a number of years.
Also the winner of a number of club ‘player of the year’ accolades Ross Campbell has coached the Trim Celtic reserve team in recent seasons.
Craig returns to Trim Celtic after a spell with Kentstown Rovers. The Glaswegian coached Trim Celtic schoolboy teams and enjoyed a very successful spell as the Knightsbrook manager guiding the team to a number of promotions, an MDL Challenge Cup final and a Kilmessan Shield victory.
Last season Trim Celtic again narrowly missed out on the Premier title and put in a strong run in the FAI Junior Cup.
Trim Celtic have wasted little time in getting their preparations underway for next season as they have already started training for the new North East Football League campaign which starts in August.
“The club would like to wish Richie and his assistants the best of luck for the season,” added new Trim Celtic PRO David Conway.
