Parkvilla completed a good day at the MDL in Navan when they also captured the NECSL u-17 Challenge Cup with a stylish performance against local rivals Johnstown.

Johnstown started well for the opening 15 minutes with Andrew Moran bringing a good save out of Darren Berrill in the 12th minute. Soon after Declan Dowling went close, but his rising shot went over the bar.

However, once Parkvilla settled they took control of the game and hit the front after half an hour when Dylan Bollard hit the target with Darren Kavanagh adding a second goal.

Parkvilla  contained Johnstown after the break, but in the closing stages the upped the tempo and finished with a flourish as Kavanagh added to his tally as he completed his hat-trick.

Kavanagh took the player-of-the-match award that was presented by LFA official Stephen Finn who was there to monitor talent for inter-provincial tournament.
