Draw for Parkvilla

Parkvilla shared four goals with visitors Templeogue Utd at Claremont Stadium in Navan last night in an entertaining Leinster Senior League Div 1B encounter with the Dublin men grabbing an equaliser deep into added time in the second-half.

The game was held up also after a lengthy half-time interval of about 40 minutes while an ambulance was summoned following an injury to a Templeogue player.

The home side started slowly and the early possession lay with the visitors without making many inroads to goal. Neither side looked threatening however Templeogue were awarded a soft penalty in the 19th minute which they duly converted.

After the resumption Parkvilla got back into contention despite losing Ciaran Rogers with a head injury. Substitute Abdeen Abdul was introduced and made an immediate impact with his strong running and he hit an 80th minute equaliser.

Parkvilla were well on top and forced a number of corners and in the 90th minute another corner from Colin Lynch was brilliantly headed in by his namesake Ger Lynch who took off to the touchline to celebrate with the coaches before returning to give chairman Gerry Kennedy a special hug.

It looked like the ’Villa were heading for full points however with the referee adding an incredible eight minutes injury time Templeogue fired home an equaliser with almost the last kick of the game.
