Contrasting fortunes in Cup showdown

There was agony and ecstasy for two Meath players in today’s FAI Cup final at the Aviva Stadium.
Bohermeen's Gary Rogers played his part as Sligo Rovers defeated Drogheda Utd 3-2 in a dramatic encounter.
While Rogers could savour a sweet victory it was bitter disappointment for Dunboyne man Cathal Brady who lined out for Drogheda Utd.
Rogers, who was a member of the Drogheda Utd squad that won the FAI Cup in 2005, was beaten by Paul O'Connor for the opening goal early on in the game.
Danny North replied with two goals to put Sligo Rover 2-1 in front. Drogheda equalised through Ryan Brennan but in the fourth minute of added time Anthony Elding popped up with what proved to be the winner.
