NAVAN side OMP Utd took the scoring honours in the Meath & District League yesterday when they fired eight goals past a hapless Oldcastle Utd rearguard to collect three valuable Div 1 points.

Following a slow start to their campaign, OPM are now in a clear third position in the race for the title only four points adrift of pacemakers Navan Town and two behind second-placed Clones Town

Stephen Gavin opened the scoring and this was followed soon after by a  Kenny Gavin strike. Joey Rogers added a brace, Ray McEvoy and Daryl Murray also hit the target before Gavin scored direct from a  corner for a 7-0 interval advantage. Manager Vernon Savage added the final goal in the second-half.

The game between leaders Navan Town and St Laurence's was postponed while Woodview enjoyed a 2-1 away win over Termonfeckin while Clones Town were on duty in the Kilmessan Shield on Friday night.
