Girls in Green ready for Black Ferns

It's once more into the breach for Ireland when they take on New Zealand this evening in the Women's World Cup at Marcoussis, just outside Paris, 5.0.

The Irish side once again includes Meath players Grace Davitt,  who will line out in the centre and Marie Louise Reilly, who takes up her customary position as a lock forward.

Ireland go into the game on the back of a 23-17 victory over the USA last Friday. The New Zealanders, also known as the 'Black Ferns' won their first game trouncing Kazakhstan 79-5.

The All-Blacks have won the last three World Cup finals and they go into today's clash as red-hot favourites.

Irish manager Philip Doyle said his players will respect the Black Ferns but not fear them.

'Too many people put them up on a pedestal before they even start,' he said.
