Toner plays part in Irish win

Devin Toner helped Ireland to a less-than-impressive 23-17 victory over Argentina in their last game of the season in Tucuman last night.

The Irish struggled to put the Pumas away on this the second test of their two-game tour.

Toner only played for the opening half of the Tucuman test and was replaced for the second-half by Iain Henderson.

Throughout the opening 40 minutes Toner helped Ireland to get a foothold in the forward division but the men in green were far from dominant.

Simon Zebo went in for a welcome try for Ireland and with Jonny Sexton consistent from place-kicks the visitors held sway. However the home time proved stubborn.

Eventually the Irish secured their win with a late try from substitute Ian Madigan.
