Ireland win at windy Ashbourne

Ireland made it two wins from two in the Women's Six Nations when they defeated Wales 14-6 at Ashbourne.

Marie Louise Reilly played her part in helping the girls in green chalk up another victory just a week after they hammered Scotland 59-0. This was a much more difficult assignment for them.

Two other Meath players, Jackie Shiels and Grace Davitt, were among the substitutes but they didn't get a run out.

Before a crowd of about 3,000 on a wet and windy evening Ireland trailed 3-6 at the break with Niamh Briggs slotting over from a penalty kick.

in the second-half the wind-assisted home side dominated with Heather O'Brien breaking through for a try and Briggs tagging on two penalties.

Next up for the Irish girls is a game away to England at Twickenham.
